When you hire labor only Moving Help, the movers do not have any professional moving equipment or tools with them. The movers rely on the customer to arrange for tools, blankets and dollies.These professional moving equipment could be arranged with Move-Ottawa Movers at an extra cost with a notification earlier at the time of booking.
The hourly rate for the moving crew is based on the number of movers and trucks required. Our moving company always assigns the optimal number of movers to every job in order to minimize cost and maximize productivity. For local moves that originate in Ottawa, we charge a flat travel time of 60 minutes, plus the number of hours upon unloading and completion of the move. If there is more than one origin or destination, the time starts when movers leave the office of Move-Ottawa movers and complete unloading at the final destination.
** Moving prices quoted above are subject to applicable H.S.T. Rates may increase during peak periods including weekends, month-end, and Fridays before long weekends.
The following list represents the estimated time required for standard moves. The estimated times provided in this list are for reference purposes only. An actual move may take more or less time depending on several factors such as access to building, parking, flights of stairs etc. For the convenience of our clients this list has been compiled using years of moving experience by Move-Ottawa Movers.
These time estimates do not include flat travel time of one hour.
A flat travel time of one hour is charged for all local moves within Ottawa. If pickup location is located 60 kms or more from Move-Ottawa Movers office location a flat travel time of two hours will apply.
For local moves that originate in Ottawa, the minimum charge will be 4 or 5 hours. Flat rates are available for both local and long-distance moves. Please contact us for details.
With a Written Binding Estimate for your move, the price we quote is the price you pay! A Written Binding Estimate is the correct legal term for a “flat” price, as opposed to an hourly estimate. An on-site moving estimate is required in order for Move-Ottawa Movers to provide a Written Binding Estimate (it is illegal to give binding moving estimates over the phone) and is based on the agreed upon inventory of goods to be moved and services to be provided. As we have an opportunity to physically evaluate the goods, we are able to offer a flat price. If inventory of items changes or increases during the move, Move-Ottawa Movers will recalculate and provide a revised estimate.A flat rate is usually 10 to 20 percent higher then an hourly rate.

Here is a list of our long distance moving prices, prices listed here are just an estimate, cost of your actual move might be more or less depending on several factors for example excess inventory and building access etc.
Move-Ottawa Movers also provide consolidated moves between the cities of Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston and Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Extra charges apply for heavy bulky items such as Pianos, Large Screen Projection TV (Bigger then 32″), Large Heavy Appliances.
Move-Ottawa Movers offers professional and economical piano moving services in Ottawa and surrounding areas. Following prices are based on the assumption that Move-Ottawa Mover is providing complete moving services and no special circumstances are required to move your piano.
Move-Ottawa Movers charges a flat rate of $30 per flight of stairs, each set of 7 stairs is considered as one flight of stairs. This $30 charge per flight of stairs is in addition to the regular hourly rate, and is a one time charge calculated based on the total number of flights at the loading and unloading locations multiplied by $30.
The services of packing and unpacking during the move are performed at the regular moving rates. You are only charged the straight hourly rate for all labor services, there is no surcharge while Move-Ottawa moving crew is packing and/or unpacking. Hourly rate does not include packing materials.
The services of basic disassembly of items such as bed frames are performed at the same hourly rate as the move. You are only charged the straight hourly rate for all labor services, there is no surcharge for disassembling basic items. However re-assembly of all basic items is charged at $45 per piece. This will added to your final bill.
Disassembly and reassembly of items such as sofas, built-ins, armoires and some wall units is completed by a furniture specialist. There is an extra charge for these services (please speak to your project manager should you require such services as Move-Ottawa Movers representative may need to view the items prior to the move to estimate the cost and work required).
The hourly rate quoted will include the manpower, dollies, blankets and vehicles.
We accept cash, credit cards with a 3.5 percent surcharge, money orders, and certified cheques, and Etransfers.
